Global Leader in IT Consulting and Systems Integration Runs on Nexenta Open Source-driven Software Defined Storage Solutions
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – June 3, 2015 — Nexenta (@Nexenta), the global leader in Open Source-driven Software-Defined Storage (OpenSDS), today announced that Wipro Ltd. (NYSE:WIT) , a leading multinational IT consulting and System Integration company, has deployed NexentaStor to support the migration of more than 15,000 employees to VirtuaDesk, the company’s VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) solution. The company also plans to deploy NexentaStor for hundreds of thousands of customers.
Wipro designed VirtuaDesk, leveraging Wipro IP and industry standard reference architecture and software. Wipro integrated VirtuaDesk software with the NexentaStor Software-Defined Storage platform to provide scalable and cost-efficient user data storage. The company further added a layer of automation which reduces the administrative burden.

Wipro supports its clients by creating successful and adaptive IT solutions. As part of this mission, Wipro wanted to help clients reduce their IT cost, complexity, and management burden by providing a Desktop as a Service (DaaS) solution.
Wipro has deployed NexentaStor in four of its data centers in India on x86 hardware. Currently, the Nexenta solution provides one petabyte of storage across four locations. Wipro will scale it up as it continues rolling out VirtuaDesk DaaS, taking advantage of the scalability of the base implementation.
Wipro's employees see no difference between their PCs and their new virtual desktops; instead, they experience greater flexibility and improved performance. This transformation of the work environment from a fixed-seat to a location-independent workspace enables better collaboration among Wipro’s engineers, helping them to form virtual teams with people in different locations.

Wipro has already begun to see cost savings from deploying VirtuaDesk DaaS and Nexenta, and expects these savings to increase as it rolls out the solution to more employees. Most of the savings in hardware came from storage, which accounts for approximately 60 percent of the typical per-seat hardware cost of a VDI deployment. The company is also expecting increased revenues from offering this cost-effective, high-performing VirtuaDesk DaaS to its customers.

The American Business Awards are considered the nation’s preeminent business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.
The American Business Awards will be presented at two awards events: the ABA's traditional banquet on Monday, June 22 in Chicago and the new product and technology awards event on Friday, September 11 in San Francisco.

PARIS, France & SANTA CLARA, Calif. – 20, May 2015 - Nexenta (@Nexenta), the global leader in Open Source-driven Software-Defined Storage (OpenSDS), today announced its participation at the second OpenZFS European User Conference on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Ecole 42 in Paris. With a growing ZFS community in attendance and a keynote from the founder of ZFS, the European event is the go to event for anything OpenZFS, the truly open source implementation of the ZFS project. OpenStack Leaders Nexenta and Canonical Join Forces to Support Enterprise OpenStack Customers
Companies collaborate to deliver solutions that help enterprises accelerate mainstream adoption of OpenStack and Software-Defined Storage
SANTA CLARA, Calif. and VANCOUVER, BC - May 18, 2015 — Nexenta (@Nexenta), the global leader of Open Source-driven Software-Defined Storage (OpenSDS) solutions and Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu and Ubuntu OpenStack, today jointly announced its strategic alliance agreement. The alliance will allow Canonical’s Ubuntu OpenStack customers to benefit from Nexenta’s full spectrum of OpenSDS products for their large scale private and hybrid clouds.
Since its launch in 2004, the Ubuntu OS, has become the natural choice for users of all kinds, from Fortune 500 companies to hardware makers, content providers, software developers and individual technologists. With developers, support staff and engineering centers all over the world, Canonical is uniquely positioned to help its partners and enterprise customers make the most of Ubuntu. Ubuntu is the leading cloud OS and Ubuntu OpenStack is the leading distribution of OpenStack. According to the OpenStack User Survey, over 55% of production clouds today run on Ubuntu, many of whom have large requirements for enterprise quality storage.
Together the two companies will develop and deliver solutions that help customers simplify and accelerate large-scale Ubuntu OpenStack deployments on Nexenta OpenSDS solutions, including NexentaStor for File and Block and NexentaEdge for Object and Block. Nexenta has also joined the Canonical Charm Partner Programme and will provide seamless support for Canonical service model Juju. Juju provides a high-level service model for automating the deployment and management of applications. Nexenta has also become a member of Canonical's OpenStack Interoperability Lab (OIL).
Both Canonical and Nexenta plan to further extend their technology collaboration with the integration and availability of NexentaEdge through Canonical’s Charm program and packaging solution Landscape that allows users of Ubuntu OpenStack to easily choose and deploy Nexenta products as their choice for storage.

The announcement was made today at Citrix Synergy 2015 in Orlando, Florida. General Availability of the next generation of NexentaStor – version 5.0 -- is expected the end of 2015.
More than 46,000 Nexenta Community Members, who will have access to this early access version of Nexenta’s next generation Software Defined Storage solution, will be able to collaborate with Nexenta to further drive innovation in Nexenta’s Open Source-driven Software Defined Storage architectures, solutions and software and hardware platforms.
